Getting around Milano
Milano is a compact city, the transport network is flexible and well developed.
Milano is served by four underground lines which cross the city from one side to the other with 75 km of track for a total of 88 metro stations. Beneath the city excavations continue in order to extend the existing underground network and the creation of one new line is underway. Two underground stations, Portello and Tre Torri are in front of the MiCo Congress Centre.
Tram and Buses
ATM, Azienda Trasporti Milanesi, provides an integrated network of surface transport based on around 120 lines including trams, trolleys and buses. ATM has also created a on-demand bus service that like a taxi collects passengers and drops them off at their destination.
Underground Rail Link
The rail link (Passante) is one of Milano’s newest infrastructure developments. It is an underground rail link which crosses the city joining the overground rail networks to the Metro.
In matter of Car Sharing, Milano has different options to deliver. Various companies have spread their cars around the city in order to connect the entire urban area. Enjoy has cheap traditional fuel powered cars, while Car2Go offers well steerable little cars like Smarts for two people easy to park. For a more sustainable option, E-vai and Eq sharing operate with electric cars, which can be found in precise locations with conformed chargers.
BikeMi is Milano's Bike Sharing easy, practical and ecological service. Designed to promote user mobility, BikeMi is not just a simple bike rental service but a real public bicycle transport system to be used for short trips supplemented by ATM traditional transport vehicles.
