To the ICTAM 2020+1 community
Christmas is approaching and we take this opportunity to share the latest news with you and let you know that the preparation of the forthcoming ICTAM 2020+1 Congress is going on, despite the uncertainty of the times we are living.
In the last few months we made a survey among the Authors of accepted papers asking a very simple question:
“Assuming that you can safely travel to Milan on August 2021, do you confirm your intention to attend the
event in person and present your extended abstract?”
We received about 2200 replies out of 2800 sent surveys. More than 2000 authors confirmed their intention to come to Milan next year, other were doubtful about the possibility to travel again, only few decided to cancel the submission.
At the same time, we worked together with the MiCo Congress Centre in Milan preparing a safety and security plan to respect the main criteria for the organization of in person events in this new Covid 19 era.
From a scientific point of view, we gave the chance to the Authors to send a revised paper, reporting new results
occurred to their works in the last few months.
Also, we opened a new call for abstracts to let people send their work in case they were late during the 1st submission period. We received about 250 new abstracts, that will be presented – if the review process will be positive – as short talk with poster.
Our goal is to let you experience in few months in Milan a “real” congress (i.e in person event).
Nevertheless we are working now with the Organizing Committee on possible alternative ways to hold the ICTAM 2020+1:
we are studying both 100% virtual and hybrid solutions.
Please, note that should the meeting format change due to unexpected circumstances becoming totally virtual, adjustments will be made to the registration fees and the Organizing Secretariat will take care of the refunds.
We would like to remind you about the Early Bird 2020 deadline for registration:
December 31, 2020
We wish you a happy, peaceful and safe holiday season, hoping you and your loved ones are doing well, and that you have been largely unaffected from the pandemic.
We promise to do our very best to arrange a conference which meets the high standards from previous editions.
25th ICTAM President,
